Chris Camello is a Los Angeles-based sports writer and reporter who has been active in the LA sports scene since 2013. At a very young age, Chris was always drawn to sports especially basketball and baseball. He particularly admired the iconic broadcasters of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers in Chick Hearn and Vin Scully. In elementary school, he did the play-by-play announcing in the fifth graders versus teachers softball game.
From then on, Chris knew he wanted to be a sports broadcaster. He grew up a passionate fan of the Lakers and Dodgers but appreciated all the different teams and players and became a very knowledgeable fan in all of the major sports and sports history.
Chris has channeled his passion and knowledge for sports into a dream profession. He went to Cal-State University, Dominguez Hills and majored in Communications with an emphasis in journalism. While at CSUDH, he did his own sports talk radio show called The Sports Corner for two years on the campus internet radio station, KDHR. Chris began to build a solid audience and many followers through this show.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 2013, Chris became a freelance sports journalist for the Daily Breeze covering high school/prep sports like football, basketball, and baseball. In October 2013, he became a staff writer for a sports blog called SportSpeak SoCal where he covered USC, UCLA, Lakers, Dodgers, and Angels.
Currently, Chris has been writing for Rebel Media Group, a rising LA-sports based media company since October 2014. He is covering the Lakers, Dodgers, UCLA football and basketball, and the D-Fenders. Chris has interviewed players and coaches at Lakers practices, Clippers games and practices, D-Fenders games, spring training for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and USC basketball games.
